Charles Page HS Performing Arts Center

This beautiful new 17,000 SF building is a crown jewel for the Sand Springs School System.  It is a bright and cheerful multi-use building that encompasses separate choir and band rehearsal space, large storage to accommodate instruments, and a large multi-purpose room for special events.  The building is designed to overlook the high school stadium, field and a Sand Springs Veterans Memorial area.  Special attention was given in design to enhance the sound while maintaining the integrity of each individual rehearsal area, which allows groups to function simultaneously without disruption.  The lobby features multiple display cases and commissioned art work.  Another prominent feature is the two story Sandite Minuteman designed into the stairwell and visible from the street.

Clinton Middle School

Clinton Middle School was designed for a student body of 650. The educational concept is that  of grade level family groups. Each grade has a complete floor consisting of two pods with classrooms fronting a multi-use, common space. Exploratory classes are located in a pod on the main floor with the media center, auditorium, cafeteria and administration areas. The auditorium seats 700 with fixed seating on a sloped floor. Upon completion of construction, analysis performed suggests a “Silver” LEED rating.

The use of ground-source heating and cooling, metal clad insulated panels, natural and high-efficient lighting, recyclable interior finishes and site placement all contributes to the efficiency of the building.

Rogers High School – Fieldhouse

Originally designed in the 1930s, Will Rogers High School needed to expand its facilities by constructing a new 48,000 SF field house. The completed program included a new gymnasium, seating for 1,300 spectators, a concession area, locker rooms, a weight room, a cheerleading practice area, coaches’ offices and a hospitality room. Special consideration centered on complementing the Art Deco style of the original building while honoring the budget.

OBU – Loyd Noble Wellness Center

A survey among OBU students listed the need for additional recreational and fitness training opportunities as one of OBU’s greatest needs (from the student perspective.)  The survey results induced the University to build a large, two‑story addition tied into the Noble Complex, the existing sports facility. The Wellness Center serves students, faculty and staff, as well as the Shawnee community by providing up‑to‑date facilities for intramural sports, fitness testing, training, exercise, athletic offices and locker rooms.  VIP boxes for the gymnasium were added to boost support of the Bison basketball team.  The Wellness Center also houses OBU’s degree programs in Health, Physical Education and Recreation (approximately 120 students.)  All OBU students are required to take physical activity classes, meaning all OBU students use the recreation facilities.
